locks up: best of all GPS I HAD – V. Calvin Hoe – Colorado Springs, CO United States
I lost 2-1 flight of my work truck. I keep my truck unlocked, because sometimes needs others to move the truck. I started to upload my GPS.
I love this GPS, do a backup of my laptop so I can change my address when I replace the GPS.
Bad unit, worse tech support – Jon Holcombe –
Do not want to make my experience with Magellan, it was terrible. Units (I bought two), freezing unexpectedly, overheating regularly and tried to return to Magellan. Technical support is in the Philippines and is absolutely the worst I have ever known. I sent by fax, email them (twice), calling them 6 or 7 times and, despite the promised phone calls not returned to me. This is probably the most electronic products and the worst I have ever undertaken Offerswith. I kicked myself for not buying a Garvin.
Update: I wrote this review two weeks ago and I never received a response (although promised) by Magellan "technical support". I was told that it was entitled to new units, and gave me all the documents. I think I will make with the GPS at least until I got pretty frustrated enough to buy a Garvin.
One thing is certain: I will not spend a penny for Magellan. They created manyill will in this former customer.
Stick with TomTom – Don Miller – North Carolina
I gave my old TomTom with my son and actually went to buy the best to buy another. However, the seller showed me a Magellan Maestro 4370 was a very good sale. I hesitated because I do not know much about Magellan and I knew that TomTom did a good GPS. However, after playing with him in the shop, see what he can do and listen to the seller, I bought it. Big mistake.
As long as it works, the Master is a good piece of gear. The problem is to adoptwork. I have owned for two months and the second trip was a long time has ceased to function. I was driving on the road and realized that the GPS did not move with me …. was attacked on a single site. I turned off and on and seems to work properly. Shortly after I noticed he did it again. This time, when I shut down, not back. Do not go for the logo screen, but would not come on. After losing a lot of time talking with one of their technicalI found the phone by sending them. They sent me a replacement. The first trip I went on, guess what? The same thing happened again. It 'froze up during the trip and when I turned, it would reconsider. Once again I spend 30 minutes on the phone with a technician (who tries to tell me how to reset, I had tried a dozen times). So I had to go back again.
Well, now I got my third start, I bought four months ago. Althoughwork done so far, I've lost confidence in her. Wonder if we freeze.
My lesson from all this? Stick with Tom Tom!
